How cool would it be to attend something like this? I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of attending something like this. It would be cool to hang out, jam and talk music with a guy like Jeff Beck. The downside is that everyone else would be thinking the same thing. From the Rock and [...]

A Sound Choice – Dave Grohl’s story about Sound City
Dave Grohl has been one of my favorite “rock stars” over the last few years because he is straight to the point, no hype, regular guy that happened to get lucky and strike a chord (pun intended) with an audience. I dig that. We need more people like that in today’s world of auto-tune, lip-syncing [...]
When great bands go bad, The Axl Rose Story.
Remember when Axl Rose and GnR used to kick all sorts of ass? So do I and I really miss those days. Obviously, in most cases, as a band gets older, or as members are replaced with other members, the band looses a bit of their luster. hey, it happens. Iron Maiden being an exception apparently. [...]
Alice In Chains New Video – Hollow
I was a huge AiC fan back when they first hit the mainstream airwaves. Jerry’s guitar playing combined with Layne’s voice was magic on an optical disc. I’m really digging DuVall’s voice on this track. Captures that AiC feel while not sounding like a Layne clone. Very cool. I can’t wait to hear more.
New Joe Bonamassa Record
Looks like Joe and the boys are putting together a new record in Las Vegas. So stoked on that. They are putting up recording diaries on YouTube as well. Here is the first one.
Flying Colors – The Next Supergroup
Super groups seem to be all the rage these days… Chickenfoot, Adrenaline Mob, Black Country Communion, etc. I’m not sure if it’s because they are trying to tap into the “star power” of a bunch of popular musicians to sell records or if they are trying to get out of a creative dry spell by [...]
New Van Halen Single – Tattoo
Van Halen released the first single off the new album. I’m not going to say it’s bad, but it’s not earth shattering either. It does have quite a bit of that old Van Halen flavor to it with a hint of the early David Lee Roth solo stuff mixed in. The guitar tones are awesome [...]
Eric Johnson 2012 Tour Dates
Looks like Eric Johnson is adding more dates to his Up Close tour. I had a chance to check him out when he stopped at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis this summer. It was an amazing show. If you get a chance to see him live, you really need to make it a point to [...]
King’s X Announce Spring Tour Dates
I’ve been a big fan of King’s X for a long time, but unfortunately I have never been able to check them out live. It’s one of those hit or miss bands that rarely come with the Midwest (*cough* Racer X *cough*) and seem to stick to the coasts. Looks like I will be disappointed [...]
Van Halen 2012 Tour Dates
Looks like the mighty Van Halen will be heading out on the road again in 2012. I have mixed thoughts on the tour. On the one hand I would love to see Van Halen again, on the other, I really want to see Van Halen, the whole Van Halen, again. I missed them the last [...]
